Representing the interests of family law arbitrators, mediators and FDRPs
The benefits of membership
- You will belong to a national organisation representing the interests of family law arbitrators, mediators and FDRPs.
- You do not have to be mediator or arbitrator to be a member of AIFLAM. Membership is open to all practitioners with an interest in alternative dispute resolution.
- AIFLAM is a Recognised Accreditation Provider (RAP), enabling members to up-skill from basic mediator skills, by training with AIFLAM, in partnership with UWA, to become a Nationally Accredited Mediator.
- If you are Nationally Accredited as a Mediator, you can re-accredit with AIFLAM when required to do so under the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS).
- Our mediators, arbitrators and FDRP members are listed on our website, with qualifications. A search of our website enables the legal profession to choose with confidence, mediators, arbitrators and FDRPs who belong to an organisation focused on family law dispute resolution, through membership and training.
Resources
Your membership includes access through the Members Portal to electronic versions of standard form mediation agreements, standard letter to solicitors, with information that can be forwarded to solicitors about the mediation process for their use and that of their clients. The documents are provided in Word format so you can modify them to suit your own specific practice needs.
The Member’s Portal of the website also contains:
- references to up-to-date academic and practice papers on Mediation topics
- a recommended reading list of current texts on Mediation practice.
- helpful information and documents about family law arbitration.
- access to webinars.
- tips and tricks shared by our members (to be available on this site shortly).
We also have State chapters recognising the different practices and requirements in alternative dispute resolution in family law around Australia. We appreciate your membership and welcome your input into local affairs of your State.
