About the program 

Join our expert trainers from the UWA Mediation Clinic for this two day course. Day One will provide a review and refresher of contemporary approaches to facilitative mediation. Day Two will comprise coaching and assessment for those AMDRAS accredited mediators seeking to renew or reaccredit.   

Over the course of the refresher day, participants will be provided with a refresher of the AIFLAM model of facilitative mediation.  

Participants may do day one only, for CPD purposes.  The day will provide 7 CPD hours, and is suitable for:  

  •        AMDRAS accredited mediators 
  •        Family Dispute Resolution Practitioners 
  •        AMDRAS accredited mediators who did not train recently through AIFLAM/UWA and would like an introduction to the AIFLAM mediation model.

 
Participants should register for the full two-day program if:  

  •        You are recently AIFLAM trained and you do not have the required mediation hours to renew your accreditation
  •        Your accreditation has lapsed.      

Our Facilitators

Dr Darren Moroney

Psychologically Informed Mediation Centre Australia (PIMCA) 

Darren holds a PhD in Psychology, and is a registered psychologist, Nationally Accredited Mediator (AMDRAS), and Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP).

As a mediator, Darren has facilitated dispute resolution processes across a range of contexts including, corporate and workplace, community, family, government, and VRO referrals from the Children’s Court of WA.

As a trainer and consultant, Darren has introduced a mentalizing-informed approach to dispute resolution to practitioners across of Australia, including through UWA’s AMDRAS National Mediation Accreditation programs and Family Dispute Resolution courses, and has been invited to work with workplaces and organisations including Family Court of WA, Children’s Court of WA, Magistrates Court of WA, DoJ, SAT, CCC, FCFCOA, Anglicare WA, local Council groups, and the Judicial College of Singapore.

Darren teaches into several units at UWA’s Law School, and was the Co-Director of the UWA Mediation Clinic from 2020-2025. He now partners with Professor Jill Howieson and the Clinic to provide AMDRAS Coaching and Accreditation.
