Maurice is an Accredited Family Law Specialist (NSW Law Society), a Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (Attorney General’s Dept.), a Nationally Accredited Mediator (AMDRAS), an Accredited Family Law Arbitrator (AIFLAM) and a trained Collaborative Family Lawyer. He is special counsel at Rafton Family Lawyers and is the team leader of RAMP, the Rafton Arbitration and Mediation Practice.
Maurice has been working in the family law space for over 40 years, approximately 5 years in Orange in the Central West of NSW and for the last 35 years in Sydney, predominantly as a lawyer but more recently as a mediator and arbitrator. He is a fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and a member of the Family Law, Mediation and Arbitration Committees of the International Bar Association.
Maurice has trained specifically in the mediation of child abduction matters with judges, lawyers and social scientists from both Australia and Japan and is a recommended mediator on the Doyles Guide of Leading Mediators in NSW. He has presented many papers on both family law mediation and arbitration at seminars and conferences over the last 10-15 years.
